The South African Model Candice Swanepoel reveals how to do a sun kissed skin, faux freckles, and the perfect lip tint on a new episode of Vogue’s Beauty Secrets.

The Victoria’s Secret model is a busy mother-of-two, so it should come as no surprise that the model has mastered the art of giving herself a ‘fake natural’ makeup look complete with painted on freckles in just ten minutes.

After giving birth to her son Ariel this summer, model Candice Swanepoel is ready to return to the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. With a whirlwind travel schedule and all that prepping for a 20-foot pair of Angel wings, the model has little time for beauty sleep these days—relying on what she laughingly calls a tried-and-true “fake natural” beauty routine to look fresh-faced and wide awake.

The 29-year-old Victoria’s Secret star is another celebrity who share her step-by-step makeup routine with Vogue. The Victoria’s Secret runway star stepped in front of the camera for Vogue recently, giving fans the lowdown on how she gets her supermodel-worthy “everyday, glowy, sunkissed look” and in the new video the South African beauty dishes about everything from her beloved $4 lip balm to her “crazy veins from breastfeeding.”

Swanepoel preps her skin with a quick dab of face oil, before smoothing in some bronzer as a base and dabbing on concealer with a beauty blender sponge to camouflage dark circles and imperfections.

“I like to use my hands in everything,” she explains, rubbing blusher into her cheeks with her fingers, “because the warmth of your hand just makes the makeup set better.” The blusher is also dabbed onto her eyelids and the bridge of the nose for a “fake, sunkissed look.”

However, before she applies any beauty products, Candice demonstrates her trick for easily adding waves to her ‘super straight’ blonde hair.

First up, to achieve her signature wind machine waves, she explains that she likes to have a ‘little bit of curl,’ so after she messily dries her long locks, she throws them up into two Princess Leia-inspired buns on the top of her head. Swanepoel twists her hair into a set of double buns before getting to work on her skin. “If I had time, I would do the eye masks, because Lord knows I haven’t slept in two years,” she says, alluding good-naturedly to the birth of her first child, Anaca, while securing her hair. Instead, a special rosewater mist and a heavy-duty, professional Kryolan concealer—sheered out with a few drops of face oil—cover sun damage and dark circles like magic.

“Blush on the nose gives a fake sun-kissed look,” she explains, dabbing her fingers over the bridge with a peony-pink pot of Stila pigment, before patting the same rosy hue on the tops of eyelids and cheekbones for a radiant finish. Full brows and fluttery, mascara-coated lashes are also essential to her beauty equation.

More bronzer follows, before lip stain, highlighter and lip liner are applied to finish the look. For a final “sunkissed” touch, Swanepoel dots fake freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks with a brow pencil and shakes her bombshell waves out, adding a spritz of dry shampoo for extra volume. But perhaps the most important piece of the puzzle comes down to a highly moisturized and pink-tinted pout. “This is my absolute favorite,” Swanepoel says of Palmer’s buy-in-bulk staple lip balm. “I don’t go anywhere without it.” Next comes a coat of Benefit’s cherry stain to prime and a swipe of NARS deep red pencil—applied with an eyeshadow brush—to look “more pouty.”

“I’ve always felt freckles look really youthful,” she says, drawing on tiny dots with Dior’s taupe brown brow pencil around her forehead and cheeks. And with that, Swanepoel presses a fine translucent powder onto her skin and flashes a peace sign at the camera—because for this Victoria’s Secret Angel, every day is lights, camera, action.

Definitely, I will follow this routine step by step, and you?
